This week, you have the opportunity to go see Vermont’s Public Service Board process in action as they hear testimony from expert witnesses on noise, health, ecological and energy issues. The hearings are held on the 3rd floor of the Peoples United Bank (formerly Chittenden) building opposite the Vermont statehouse in the PSB hearing room at 112 State Street in Montpelier.
The PSB uses prefiled testimony, so you never hear the witness’s direct examination. It makes for a weird type of hearing, where only the people who have the written prefiled testimony in front of them have any idea what’s being discussed. Much of the questioning is so lawyers elicit responses they can use in their brief. Almost all of the testimony is here so you can read up on what you’re going to hear discussed.
